Church Leadership
God has entrusted the leadership of the local church to Pastors/Elders and Deacons. Pastors/Elders handle the primary leadership, teaching, and spiritual oversight, and are assisted by Deacons in this task. It is the biblical conviction of Redemption Church that the New Testament presents the church being led by a plurality of pastors/elders. To learn more, please see the menu below.

Pastors/Elders are men who meet the biblical qualifications given in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9 (cf. Acts 20:28-35 and 1 Peter 5:1-3). Their primary responsibilities are to teach God’s Word, lead by giving spiritual oversight, model by setting a godly example in their manner of living, and pray regularly for the members and ministry of the church. While there are three words used to describe elders, the New Testament uses them interchangeably to refer to one office.

Deacons are men and women who meet the biblical qualifications given in 1 Timothy 3:8-13. These individuals serve the church by overseeing specific ministry areas and practical needs that may arise in the life of the church.
